BabyLab

At the BabyLab, we aim to better understand how babies learn and develop, both behaviourally and cognitively. Our labs are set up to make studying babies as easy as possible, with bright and cheerful receptions, the latest technology and all the facilities needed when away from home.

ToddlerLab

The ToddlerLab is purpose built to mimic settings in the natural world combined with the latest advances in technology. We are able to study infants, toddlers and children to further understanding in developmental cognitive neuroscience.

BRIDGE Lab

The BRIDGE Lab is a molecular biology facility for genomic research using DNA and RNA samples.

iDCNlab

Research in the lab focuses on social cognition and executive functions during development and adulthood.

Gel

The aim of the Genes Environment Lifespan lab is to identify the genetic and environmental causes that play a part in making people different, and how these causal processes work.

AlphaLab

The focus of our research is the relationship between perceptual and attentional processes and spoken language comprehension throughout the lifespan.

Develomental Neurocognition Lab

We are interested in how cognitive abilities increase as we grow older, in how individuals can vary in their levels of intelligence, and in how cognitive abilities can be altered in developmental disorders.

CINELab

The Cognition in Naturalistic Environments (CINE) Lab focuses on the investigation of active audiovisual scene cognition in real-world and mediated environments such as VR, smartphones and film, and how these skills develop across early childhood.

Birkbeck-UCL Centre for NeuroImaging

BUCNI provides state of the art magnetic imaging facilities for Birkbeck and UCL staff, and promotes inter-institutional collaboration and innovation.

Brain and Behaviour Lab

We study perception, attention, and sensorimotor processes. We investigate cognitive and brain mechanisms and the disruption of these processes caused by brain damage or atypical development.
